Manager of Engineering

Primary Function:

  • Maintains close supervision on all construction projects to insure fulfillment of all             contracts according to specifications.
  • Establishes and maintains blueprint files and as built drawings on all facilities, construction projects, equipment/machinery and mechanical/electrical systems.
  • Prepares and recommends long-range plans for the development and improvement of facilities to insure the most economic facilities and manufacturing processes available.
  • Investigates and studies specific machines and processes to determine possible usage and practicability of usage in Sanderson Farms operations.
  • Supervises all aspects of contracts to maintain integrity of contracts and reports all deviations with recommended remedies to the Director of Development.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Reviews all engineering changes affecting design function or performance.
  • Accountable for the supervision and construction of construction projects.
  • Prepares and recommends long-range plans for the development and improvement of plants and facilities to insure the most economical facilities and manufacturing processing available.
  • Plans and coordinates the expansion of facilities where and when needed.
  • Supervises all aspects of contracts to maintain integrity of contracts and reports all deviations with recommended remedies to the Director of Development.
  • Works closely with architects and contractors where appropriate, in the design of            construction, as well as major equipment/machinery and processes.
  • Establishes and maintains blueprint files and “as built” drawings on all facilities, construction projects, equipment/machinery, mechanical/electrical systems.
  • Prepares cost and time estimates for budget and other purposes.
  • Maintains close supervision on all construction projects to insure integrity of contracts and the fulfillment of all contracts to specifications.

 

Position Requirements:

  • Academic: Bachelor’s degree in Building Construction Technology, related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience: Three years of experience in engineering construction in manufacturing environment including supervisory experience.
